Lighting in my home

We live in a house that is old, what I mean
by that is that it still has the copper piping
that they put in the 50's or something. Every
time I turn around something is falling apart.
I have been doing a little here and there to
make it more modern and prettier looking, and
I have noticed that the lighting is really poor.
We have original old lighting so I went to our
local hardware store to price check on
pendant lighting, and the designs some are
really beautiful and high priced. I am just
wanting to get affordable, modest lighting.
Such hard decisions to make.
